Design

We fully understand the importance of building a school that is exactly to your requirements.

Therefore in the design stage we work with you to ensure firstly that the siting of the school is correct.

This is important for a number of reasons:

Is the arena to be fenced

What surface do you require:

FIBRE TRACK or WAXED SURFACE

Is there any other work that needs carrying out at the same time

The manege needs to be correctly positioned for all round best results

The manege needs to be easily accessible all year round

It needs to be where it will drain efficiently,

where it and you will not be badly affected by the weather

It is becoming more and more important that the local planning authority

do not have objections if local planning consent is needed

Some local planning authorities are aslo concerned about rainwater run off

and its effect on neighbours. Lighting may be a major concern

We shall help you through any planning application that should prove neccassary

At design stage there are also safety and aesthetic considerations.

Other points to consider at this stage include:

A school we built at Great Hallingbury in 2003 had to have a child friendly fence, which had no protruding posts, no sharp edges and had to lean outwards at 15 degrees in case a pony got too close.
